Young Eagles Event

I am so excited to announce that we at the STEM Amateur Radio Club have collaborated with the EAA's Young Eagles program. This program is available free of charge to young people ages 8 to 17 years who think they might be interested in getting involved with aviation. Whether it's design, maintenance, or becoming a pilot.

We need a few additional youths interested in participating. We'll meet with the folks at Rock Hill airport on the scheduled date. Here, the kids will be introduced to aircraft, aircraft maintenance, safety, and more. Then, with their parent/ guardian present for signed permission... a free 20-minute flight over the city of Rock Hill.

Folks at the David Griffin Foundation folks will guide the family through the process. All of this is free of charge. The process to earn one's pilot's license could span a couple of years. The average out of pocket costs for a private pilot's license is upwards of $25,000. Again, free through the Young Eagles.

The Young Eagles Flight program has given over 2 million flights to young people ages 8 to 17 years, free of charge. It is the only program of its kind with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids of the world of aviation.

Any young person, fitting the age group who is interested, PLEASE have your parents or guardian contact me as soon as possible. Please include the birthday of the young person, a valid email, phone number, and address for the parent/ guardian.
